Robert Hughes, P.h.D. is the Chief Technology Officer of Finless Foods, a San Francisco based company focussed on the cellular production of seafood products. Prior to joining Finless Foods, he was Associate Professor at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging in Novato, CA. There, he directed a research laboratory focussed on aging, age-related disease, metabolism and protein folding in mammalian and fungal systems. Prior to that, he was a Research Director at Myriad Proteomics where he led computational and cell biology groups. Dr. Hughes holds a Ph.D in Biology from Yale University and completed post-doctoral fellowships in Biochemistry and Genetics at the University of Washington and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. He also holds an M.A. in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University.
