Sawada has been developing full-cycle aquaculture of fish such as bluefin tuna, focusing on human resources development in the cultivation field, and creating new fish fingerling production process of saltwater fish at the Aquaculture Research Institute, Kindai University since 1994. He has also been working on full-cycle aquaculture for yellowfin tuna from Panama using Japanese technology, as well as promoting the cultivation industry and human resources development in developing countries. Recently, he has been promoting the fishing and cultivation industry of Japan and abroad by aiming to create a sustainable use of aquatic products and provide dietary education on consuming fish. The world’s production quantity in the fishing industry has not changed since the 1990s, and despite there being a limit to availability, the production through cultivation has increased. The future will require the industry to develop sustainable production, distribution, process, sales, and a systematic community.
